A professional Baby Nurse helps the bonding and attachment process which continues well into the postpartum period and through the first couple of years. I do this by reaffirming what is happening, normalize her feelings and reflect back to her what she has said which usually surfaces more thoughts and feelings on a deeper level. I function as a supporter, advocate, educator, caregiver, protector, observer and a great listener.

After some personal contact prior to the birth and homecoming, a good rapport will be formed so that the new Mom and Dad will be reassured and feel that the skilled hands that touch her and her new baby eminate from my heart.

My role is to tell the new Mom how wonderful she is doing, looking into the Mother’s eyes and redirecting a lost focus with a voice the mother can hear, nurturing, offering fluids and snacks. I’m there to wipe your tears and never leaving your side or giving you the space your require. Your wish is my job. I get to watch the new parents soar to the greatest heights of acomplishment while performing care for the first time.. The value of having a Professional Baby Nurse is priceless.
